Feature Release: Biggest changes yet
Update Overview
This is a pretty significant update in the lifecycle of Slime-S.
Because so much has changed since 0.0.7, the best decision was to completely cut off the way going back and charge forward instead. New features have been added right from the beginning of the game, so all that content means you'll need to play again from the beginning. As the game is still in active development, and only quite short, it's not the worst thing to happen. Enjoy the game over again, new story elements, new abilities etc.
Why the big change
Recently (on the technical side of things) took a deep dive into CSS and what it can offer. And then migrated almost all of the text and menu elements completely to HTML, including most of the HUD and whatever effects were available to place there too. There are alot of components being built to be reused in Killer Ant Empire and CarryKins too, so learning, experimenting and building now seems like the right thing to do.
Game Story
A note on the story of Slime-S. and the game lore. It's very much fluid and developing as the game progresses. There is a general idea of a linear type story to follow, but many of the names, characters and storyline elements come from you. Players that post, comment, and interact with the game are where the names and new gaming elements will come from. Saves time thinking up character profiles and it's a nice way to thank you for playing.
What's new in 0.1.0
So much has changed it's very difficult to keep track of it all, so here are a few of the most significant changes
- HUD restyled. Every section. HP, notifications, troops, minimap
- Battle system reviewed (part 1) for the damage effects, status effects, visual effects, etc.
- Menu UI and flow rebuilt
- Cutscenes rebuilt, revamped and animations refined
- Power ups and collectibles included on maps
- Quests, side quests and bonus content for completing them
- Boss battles and mini boss battle structure built in
- Major and minor objectives added to break down play
